Mary Jane Denzer

Mary Jane Denzer, the founder and namesake of our boutique, was a daring visionary and creative force who was universally beloved by the fashion community. She is fondly remembered for her impeccable taste, trailblazing style, unwavering candor and generous philanthropy. Born in Manhattan and raised on Long Island, Mary Jane entered the fashion world after attending Wheaton College. She started her career as a model at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship and went on to enjoy great success in influential roles at Saks and Bergdorf Goodman.

In 1980, she launched her eponymous brand in White Plains, New York where she developed a loyal following. Known for her edited collection and close designer partnerships, she intuitively understood the unique desires of her clientele and always provided the most fitting, exquisite selections women loved to wear. Her legacy as a New York fashion icon continues to inspire women today. Those of us who knew her will never forget her signature phrase, “Simply Divine!”
